My Alto Sax Business Card

I was blessed with fine motor dexterity, an ear for harmony and a strong natural impulse for rhythm. I take no credit for that but I could not waste it either.

I have been playing the saxophone for more than 35 years. I learned the basics through public school marching / concert band programs and private lessons by Dana Lundy. Band Directors included Jimmy Mullins, Larry Wilson and David Mayfield. I learned how to improvise from saxophonist Willie Thompson studying jazz improvisation at Delta State University. I also studied jazz improvisation from Raoul Jerome. I have a Bachelor of Music Performance degree from the University of Southern Mississippi (1983).

I have been playing professionally since about 1981. Club/party bands I have played with include Smokin, Backstreet, The Look, Big House Trio, Super Band Waste Band, Eden Brent, Cool Papa Bell, Chris Gill and Johnny Crocker. In 2008 I played about 50 gigs, mostly with The Vamps and The Patrick Smith Band. I am available to play other fill in band gigs and recording sessions. I also do solo performances such as weddings, receptions and other parties.

I offer lessons for saxophone and/or instrumental improvisation, $20 per 30 minute session.
